Child Care & HolidaysChild care choices while on holidayWe all look forward to summer holidays, a time to just get away and soak up the sun for a couple of weeks, but what about the children, how do you keep them amused while you relax on the beach or take in the sights? Fortunately nearly all big resorts will have child minders and activity groups which your child can attend: Full day activity groups Before booking your holiday make sure you enquire about activities for your children while on holiday, most of the big hotels and resorts will have child activity groups which your child will be able to attend, this gives you time to relax on your own knowing your children are safe and are being kept entertained. The choice of activities will vary from place to place so it is well worth looking into this before making your final decision. Some resorts offer only the very basics such as ball games on the beach, races or treasure hunts while others will offer tours to different places. Resorts that offer tours will usually pick your child up in the morning and offer an action packed day returning them in time for dinner. Included in the price of the activity day is entry to any exhibit that they may attend or Water Park and a nutritious lunch will be provided. Fun clubs Some resorts will offer your child fun clubs, your child can attend a club for a couple of hour's everyday during your stay, and here they will be able to take part in various activities and games. Clubs are usually available at most resorts and they will take children of different age groups starting from 3 years to 12 years old. Activities are carefully structured to the age of the child ensuring they are never bored. Drop in centers For the older child there may be drop in centers where they can come and go as they please, here they will be able to take part in games, play video games or use a computer under supervision. Crèches Most resorts will offer the use of a crèche during your stay for younger children, these are usually charged on an hourly basis and sessions will usually last for about two hours, and they are run by trained nursery nurses. Evening clubs Resorts will usually provide evening entertainment for your child this will usually be by way of providing movies for them to watch and organising discos where soft drinks and snacks will be provided. Clubs during the evening will normally last for roughly two or three hours and give you some time to relax while keeping your children amused. Water sports activities Usually a resort will offer activities for water sports for the older child, here the child can attend for a few hours and take part in snorkeling and scuba diving lessons. All staff who gives lessons will be fully qualified instructors and will be trained in first aid. Babysitters and child minders Most resorts offer a baby sitting service, this service is usually charged by the hour and usually advance notice is needed by the service. The babysitter will take care of your child in your hotel room and will provide your child with snacks, drinks and bedtime stories.
